Nasha: movie review
Nasha: movie reviews
Pandey's Nasha is a cheap and forgettable film, despite all the loud claims she made on Twitter. The storyline is weak and the acting is pathetic.....
Plot:- Nasha is the story of an 18 year old boy who falls hopelessly in love with a 25 year old woman. A woman he cannot have, but a woman he cannot help but desire. And, as is the case with desires unfulfilled, they turn into obsessions. And yet, every obsession is a lesson learnt; an experience gained. So that, in the course of coping with his unrequited love, the boy requites a lot more. And both he and the woman come of age. Beyond mere years, in the truest sense of the word. A tale as much of longing as of losing, Nasha is a story that transcends seasons and generations. Because we’ve all been there, done that. And shall continue to do so…
Storyline:-
It is the story of a school in Panchgani where the students are loud, shameless and boisterous. They do not mind sharing cheap jokes and making adult comments. Poonam Pandey's entry in this school as a theatre teacher is all that was needed! A boy called Sahil falls for her and then comes her boyfriend Samuel who, much to the chagrin of Poonam, begins to trouble Sahil.
Sahil, whose innocence, infatuation and vulnerability keeps you glued to your seat for the two hours it lasts.
Remember your days in school and college. Remember how you fell for the charms of your teacher.
Remember how ‘innocently’ you imagined making love to her. And remember those heartaches.
That is Sahil’s story. It takes you back to your growing up days
Poonam (Anita) plays the newly appointed teacher in the school where Sahil studies. While Sahil’s gang of boys are busy admiring Anita’s well-endowed body, the young stud falls in love with the lady. He even starts developing a relationship with her. Soon Sahil is left heartbroken when he finds out that Anita has been in a relationship with Samuel for the past five years. What leads to this unexpected revelation is a series of emotional atyachaars Sahil goes through to learn to draw a definite line between lust and love. Will Sahil gain the love of his life if he expresses his true feelings for Anita? That is the basic plot of Nasha.
Performance:-
Performance wise, Poonam has delivered a fine act for a debutante. With almost all her scenes shot with the intention of highlighting her heavy bosom and glorifying her curvy posterior, she gets a very little scope to deliver anything as an actor. Miss Pandey needs to learn to use her facial expressions to convey what she wants to say. Instead, in most intense scenes she heaves her bosom heavily to show frustration or desperation. Her anglicised Hindi gets on your nerves after a point. Shivam is the better actor. The lad looks comfortable before the camera and seems promising. The music is strictly okay and the slick cinematography is the only saving grace of this otherwise below-ordinary production.
(-):-
Where the film lets you down (and no pun intended here) big time is when Sahil and Anita (Poonam Pandey) make love to each other. Saxena fails miserably to get the right expressions from Nasha’s lead stars when they are in the throes of passion.
Moral:-
Moral:-
The moral of the story: Pyaar toh summer vacation ki tarah hota hai. Har saal aata hai. (Falling is love is like summer vacation. It happens every year). This parting shot from Sahil's muse is enough to help him come out of his Nasha, enjoy the hangover and carry on with life.
Genre
- Adult, Thriller
Producer
- Surender Suneja
- Aditya Bhatia
- Star Cast
- Poonam Pandey
- Shivam Patil
- In short, just like Poonam Pandey’s tall promises, Amit Saxena’s Nasha is empty. It promises to be titillating, but remains bereft of any real action or entertainment!
- Touted as a slick erotic story of a teenage boy falling for a mature woman, director Amit Saxena’s Nasha is flat, hollow and mind-numbingly boring!
- This film has exposed the 'acting' skills of Poonam Pandey and I am sure any sensible film maker will think twice before signing her. It is a cheap and dangerous Nasha that should be avoided at all costs!
- not sexy,not entertaining,plain boring!
Verdict:- Nasha is more of a love story than an erotic drama and fails at both. A predictable script and terrible acting don't help either. Skip it..
