How to Define Cheekbones with Facial Yoga
Like the muscles of the body, the muscles of the face can become loose, weakened and slack if they are not exercised. Though not medically proven, muscles of the face may be toned with special exercises that isolate and target the muscles of the cheeks, forehead, jaw, mouth, chin and neck. These exercises for toning the face increase muscle strength and stimulate oxygen and blood flow to the face. This improves tone and texture of skin, improves complexion, and decreases the appearance of wrinkles and jowls for a toned, more youthful appearance.
You can lift sagging facial skin with facial yoga. Facial yoga exercises firm up the muscles beneath the skin using resistance techniques that focus specifically on facial muscles. Whether you're 28 or 62, your face will look firmer and more youthful after a few weeks of facial yoga.
- Open your eyes as wide as you can, and raise your brows without creating lines or creases on your forehead. Focus on stretching all the muscles away from the tip of you nose. Open your mouth as wide as you can, as if you were pulling it away from the center of your face. Hold this exercise for 10 seconds. Alternate the exercise from Step 1 and this exercise 10 times.

- Concentrate on the tip of your nose. Move all your facial muscles forward, as if you were trying to get them to touch the tip of your nose. Bring the brow down, pucker the lips to bring them up, and pull the jaw forward and up. Hold for 10 seconds.
- Place your three middle fingers on the apples of your cheeks, gently pressing down to exaggerate a smile. Lift and release the muscles of the upper cheeks using slight resistance from your fingers, as if doing cheek push-ups. Recline your head and gaze at the ceiling. Do three sets of 15
- Gently purse your lips, and bring the top lip to touch the bottom of the nose by extending the jaw and moving it up. Lift the cheek muscles as you did in Step 3. Hold this position for 10 seconds and relax. Repeat 10 times. This exercise not only firms sagging cheeks, it also tightens the jowls.

Extraneous Factors
The last thing before we get to the exercises is to cover some basic factors that will contribute to a better jawline.
- Cut back on the salt – Eating a lot of salty foods increases your water retention which can bloat your cells and give you that ‘swollen’ look.
- Drink enough water – This will further counteract the salinity balance in your cells and also boost your metabolism.
- Apply toner then moisturizer – As a guy, I personally had never used toner before even though I know a handful of guys that do. It was one of my female friends that suggested it while I was developing this workout with her. Toners tighten up pores on the skin and moisturizing locks it in. Using these may help get the skin taut but it also helps with a cleaner and healthier look. If you don’t believe in it… you should still do it at the very least as a hail mary.
